Maruti Suzuki is ready to bring 5 new SUVs to the Indian market. These will be launched in the next 3 years. These will include the new-gen Maruti Brezza, the 5-door Jimny, the Baleno-based crossover, a medium-sized SUV and a three-row SUV. While the Baleno-based compact SUV will compete with the top variants of the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, the new medium-sized SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming 7-seater SUV is being brought against the competition of Huundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
What’s so significant about a Maruti 7 Seater SUV?
According to reports, Maruti’s 3-row SUV, codenamed Y17, will use the same platform as the company’s Ertiga MPV. This model can be offered in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. It will be Maruti Suzuki’s flagship model, meaning it is going to be the company’s most expensive car. It can get features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, auto headlights and cruise control.

This 1.5 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine can be offered with hybrid technology. The engine can be combined with manual and automatic transmission. If the rumors are to be believed, the XL6 could be replaced by the new Maruti 7-seater SUV. At the same time, some other reports are saying that the company is going to give a mid-life update on Maruti XL6 next month.

Maruti cars will be expensive from January
The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India is set to raise car prices from January next year. The company said that the price increase will depend on different models. The company announced price increases in March, July and September this year. Maruti Suzuki has recently increased the price of its Van Eeco by Rs 8,000. This increase is due to the addition of airbags to the Echo.
