Until now, users had three privacy options for their profile photo, last seen, and information — Everyone, My Contacts, and Nobody. These are linked, according to GSM Arena, to a fourth option called ‘Except my contacts…’, which is also available for status privacy.

The new option allows users to show their WhatsApp profile photo, last seen and information to the people in their contact list, except those they want to exclude.
To try out this new privacy control, you can go to WhatsApp’s Settings > Account > Privacy menu on iPhone and Android devices.

In addition to introducing a new privacy control, WhatsApp also announced some group calling features, allowing users to mute others and send messages to specific people during group calls. One can also see the banner when one joins the group call off-screen. (ANI)
