NWN Sources: Saints Negotiate With Texans About Mark Ingram

NEW ORLEANS (NWN) – The Houston Texans and the New Orleans Saints have been working on a Wednesday night trade that will send the fleeing Mark Ingram to New Orleans, where he spent the first eight seasons of his career, two people familiar with the situation said. …

People spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because not all aspects of the deal were completed.

But one of the people said the negotiations “are tending” to an agreement in principle to move Ingram back to New Orleans.

Ingram has made seven appearances for Houston this season, hitting 92 times for 294 yards and hitting a touchdown. He also has seven catches at 24 yards.

Former Alabama Trophy winner Heisman was selected 28th overall by New Orleans in 2011. He spent the previous two seasons in Baltimore, where in 2019 he spent his last 1000-yard season as a racer.

Ingram, 31, has raced over 1,000 yards twice in a season in New Orleans. In 2017, he rushed for his best career record of 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns, in the first of two seasons he tandem with Alvin Camara in the Saints backfield.

Ingram’s production plummeted in 2018, his last season under contract with New Orleans, and he left for Baltimore at large after that.

Ingram has appeared on social media to celebrate the announcement of the trade talks.

When Camara posted a message that his former teammate had reunited with him in the Saints background, Ingram responded with an emoji with a smiling face shedding tears and a fleur-de-lis, a symbol of the French royal family that appears on the helmets and uniforms of the Saints. as well as the official city flag of New Orleans.
