NYPD: Senior citizens targeted by pair of scooter robbers in NYC

NEW YORK — Police are looking for a pair of scooter riders who they say assaulted and robbed seniors in Manhattan.

According to the New York City Police Department, on January 2, police received a report of an 85-year-old woman on West 34th Street in the direction of Eighth Avenue in Midtown at approximately 10:30 p.m. on a pair of scooters. The couple allegedly forcibly stole her handbag from her hand as they continued to scooter north on Eighth Avenue.

Police said the woman suffered a minor hand injury and was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex in stable condition.

According to the NYPD, his stolen wallet contained a bank card, personal identification and personal documents.

The second incident allegedly involving these two took place on Saturday. On this day at approximately 5:15 p.m. the two, once again on a scooter, approached a 76-year-old woman who was walking on East 6th Street near Avenue A and tried to forcefully take her bag, causing her to fall to the ground. Fall.

In the incident, according to police, the two failed to steal the bags and both fled on scooters traveling west on East 6th Street toward First Avenue.

A 76-year-old female suffered a laceration over her left eye and swelling of her left wrist and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

The police is describing the first person as a thin teenager. At both events, he was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a dark vest, black pants, and black shoes with a white design.

Police also describe the second person as another teenage girl with a slim build. At both events, she was wearing a green winter hat, a black and white jacket, black jeans and black tennis shoes.
