In an effort to provide a more complete and enriching education to graduating students in the fourth year of the Occupational Health Technicians career at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama, the National Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety ( SySO) of The Social Security Fund (CSS) assumes the responsibility of providing complementary knowledge.
Students have the opportunity to receive training in various disciplines, including psychology, nursing, technical areas, medicine and occupational therapy. This comprehensive training allows them to understand how to comprehensively respond to Promotion and Prevention in the field of workers’ health.
Alba Cáceres, one of the students, expressed her gratitude for this initiative, because she believes it will help them in their future work, both inside and outside the workplace. Your responsibility is to ensure compliance with the current regulations that regulate the best conditions for each job.
Another student, Estefani Ruiz, emphasized the complementarity between the technical side and the evaluations made, with the care and follow-up provided by medicine, occupational therapy, psychology and nursing professionals to the workers. This experience provides a comprehensive view of how to address occupational health aspects.
This collaboration between the University of Panama and the CSS shows the commitment of both institutions to train highly trained professionals in the field of Occupational Health and guarantee the safety and well-being of Panamanian workers.
