Bhubaneswar: A 14-day lockdown has been announced in Odisha between May 5 and May 19 to break the chain of Corona broadcasts, as the state Kovid case sees a spike like the rest of the country.
Since the onset of the epidemic, Odisha has recorded 4.5 lakh cases. Yesterday (Saturday) only 10.413 infections were recorded.
Last week, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said after Kovid’s review meeting, “We are in the midst of a serious crisis in the country. Many states and metro cities are witnessing tremendous pressure on the healthcare system. All in Odisha to manage the situation Vigilance in ensuring measures. ”
Yesterday, the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi extended the lockdown for the third straight week as the national capital Kovid caseload continues to rise. Lack of basic resources such as hospital beds or medical oxygen remains a challenge for patients to struggle.
On Saturday, India reported more than 4 lakh cases in 24 hours in a new serious global record. This morning, the number of infections reached 1.95 crore with 3.92 lakh fresh cases.
AIIMS chief doctor Randeep Guleria said on Saturday that we will have to work aggressively to bring down this number. No health care system in the world can manage such a load. The issue of offensive control or lockdown or whatever else is important will have to be done. “
