The South American team will play their last match in the Group Stage of the 2023 FIFA U20 Trophy, which is being held in Argentina. Day 3 will be held between May 26 and 28 in the cities of San Juan, Santiago del Estero, Mendoza and La Plata.
Argentina and Colombia have already qualified in the Round of 16 with victories in their two games. Meanwhile, Ecuador, Brazil and Uruguay, with individual wins and losses, will have to look for three points to enter the next phase of the world tournament.

- This will be the first match between Argentina and New Zealand for the U20 World Cup. The Albiceleste have only come across Australia, considering the teams from the oceanic continent, both seasons with defeat (1-2 in 1981 and 3-4 in 1997).
- Argentina have lost only one of their last six U20 World Cup group stage matches, winning the other five. That’s the only loss against South Korea in 2019 (1-2).
- New Zealand against CONMEBOL teams on four occasions for the U20 World Cup, without obtaining victories: 1E, 2D against Uruguay and 1D against Colombia.
- Argentina is the second team with attempted passes (1,152) and successful passes (985) in the 2023 U20 World Cup, in both cases behind France (1,216 and 1,071 respectively).

- Uruguay is, along with Brazil, the team with the most shots so far at the 2023 U-20 World Cup, with 51 in total.
