The Víctor Cabedo de Onda Pavilion has this week become the headquarters of the Spanish Youth Women’s Handball Championship. One of the eight teams fighting to win the title is Handball Onda, which has a group of players with great experience in the lower age categories and is one of the favorites to win the title.
This weekend around a thousand people will come to Onda to cheer on their teams. In addition, the city will be announced in the streaming broadcast of the tournament on the YouTube channel of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation.
Eight matches have already been played on Wednesday and Thursday and today will be the last four matches which will help decide which teams will play in the semi-finals.
In this regard, the sports councilor of the Onda City Council, José Vicente Isarte, has stated: “The organization of these sporting events places us at the highest national level, that of our athletes.”
Thus, the first match of the day at 10:30 will pit Icasa Handball against USA H Group Mislata UPV. At 12:30 p.m., ECA will play Malkitz and Cordoba de Baloncesto. The next match, at 4:00 PM, is Handball between Montequinto Proin Ciudad de Dos Hermanas and Helvetia Anaitasuna. The day will end at 6:00 pm with a handball match between Onda and Kukulga Atzebarri.
The first semi-final will be played tomorrow at 6 pm. and another, at 8:00 p.m. The winning teams will clash in the Grand Final on Sunday at 12:30 PM. The match for the third place will also be played on Sunday from 10:30 am.
