Oanda has launched Fira in style. After yesterday’s Crida, today a traditional Fira lunch, with fun parades and two bulls from the famous farms of Bou de Fira, Victoriano del Ro and Hijos de Celestino Cuadri.
Thousands of ondens and visitors fill the streets to enjoy the first Saturday of the festivities. Early in the morning, the first race of the bulls was held with the entrance of the bulls and later an exhibition of calves from the German Vidal cattle ranch in Castellon. At noon, gaining strength in the popular lunch, the parade brought together the Queens and Court of Honour, Municipal Corporation and clubs to the beat of the Union Musical Band and the Brass Band. A long-awaited act as it could not be conducted since 2019 due to the pandemic.
In the afternoon, the hills of Victoriano del Río and Hijos de Celestino Cuadri Wives Ranch were showcased, which have generated a lot of anticipation and a great play on the sand for the enjoyment of fans and trimmers. After that, two bulls sponsored by the ACT La Montera Pea, Joacun Nuez from the iron, and Stan-K, from the iron of Castellón rancher Sergio Santelles, were released. At night, two embolades have been made at Raval de San Jose and El Pla respectively.
Today, Onda has once again become the bullfighting capital with a top-notch lineup featuring the best irons in the country. Maria Praed, Deputy Mayor of the Culture and Festivals Zone, said that a good week is looking forward to enjoying the bullfights, music, culture and the unique atmosphere that is generated in the world’s best festivals.
