The search operation of the US special operations aircraft that crashed off the coast of Japan is still ongoing. We will tell you that the American plane crashed on the island of Yakushima in Japan on Wednesday. The plane is an Air Force CV-22B Osprey of the US 353rd Special Operations Wing.

The cause of the accident is unknown

The plane was on a routine training mission and had eight people on board at the time of the accident. A spokesman for the Japanese Coast Guard said that so far the body of one of the plane’s passengers has been recovered. However, this has not been confirmed by American officials. American officials say the crew is missing and a search is underway. The cause of the accident is still unclear and emergency personnel are in the area and are conducting search operations to locate the missing persons.

The Osprey aircraft has been the victim of many accidents in the past.

The Japanese Coast Guard said the accident happened around 2:47 a.m. local time. After the accident, all Osprey aircraft were grounded. However, US Army officials denied this and said no orders were given. Let us tell you that in recent years many Osprey aircraft have been victims of accidents. These aircraft are used by Special Forces for long range infiltration and resupply missions. A few months before this, America’s Osprey plane crashed in Australia, killing three US Army Marines.

Apart from this, last year also during the training mission in California, America, an MV-22B Osprey aircraft crashed, where five American Marines lost their lives. In 2022 itself, four American soldiers died in an Osprey crash during a training exercise in Norway.
