The Juntos Por El Cambio Interblock decided to decline the invitation sent by the Minister of Mines, Marcelo Murua, to join the delegation that will participate in the Mining Fair to be held in Canada and will take place in March this year.
As EL ANCASTI announced, Mines Minister Marcelo Murua sent an invitation addressed to Luis Lobo Vergara, president of the UCR bloc, to join the delegation representing the opposition.
When deputy Enrique Cesarini (PRO) traveled to Canada after the scandal last year, Lobo Vergara preferred to avoid controversy, bringing the bloc closer together and considering the government’s invitation. However, Block was of the opinion that this was not appropriate. “In an election year, we didn’t want to confuse society,” he said.
According to reports, the meeting also discussed that the president of the UCR, Gerardo Morales, the governor of Jujuy province, would attend the mining fair, as would opposition legislators from other provinces. In this sense, and with this argument, Lobo Vergara may have tried to convince his comrades, but he warned them that the opposition’s criticism of the government’s mining policy would expose them in the midst of a contradictory position. In balance, he recalled that last year, the bloc took a strong position on mining policy, such as when it condemned lithium under-invoice maneuvers by the Livent company or when it rejected the “express” treatment given to it by the ruling party. done. Commitment signed by the provincial government with mining firms Liex (Tres Quebradas Project) and Galaxy Lithium (Sal de Vida) for min.
In the end, it was decided that no representative of the opposition would join the party.
The meeting will be held in Canada from March 5 to 8. At this point it was analyzed that March 3 would be the date for the presentation of the candidates who wished to chair the UCR. In this sense, he warned that anyone who aspires to become UCR president cannot share travel abroad with Governor Raúl, pointing directly to Luis Lobo Vergara.
The meeting in Canada is an opportunity for exchange between businessmen and government officials from the mining sectors.

Last year, representative Enrique Cesarini attended the Canadian Mining Fair on behalf of the opposition. He did this in his capacity as a member of the Mining Commission. At the time, the UCR bloc reprimanded him for his appearance because he had not informed them of his decision and many were shocked when the government discovered him in photographs circulated through the network.
The situation created a rift in the opposition. Through a document, the representatives of Alejandro Páez, Juana Fernández, Silvana Carrizo, Luis Fadel, José Sosa and Cristina Gómez admit that their presence was personal and not on behalf of the bloc. “We believe that it is up to him to state where he wants to play and what interests he wants to protect, because you cannot play two teams with conflicting interests,” he said in a document.
Instead, PRO president Carlos Molina justified deputy Cesarini and clarified that the trip was not paid for by Jalil’s management but by the Federal Investment Council (CFI) and clarified to the participants in question to the deputy that “we Should not confuse the institutional with the work of the opposition”.
Upon his return, Cesarini expressed that he had not participated on behalf of anyone and believed that “it is not rare” for the opposition to participate.
