Transportation efficiency is a constant challenge in the digital age. This is where it comes into play. Router a tool that uses artificial intelligence to effectively plan routes.
Originally born as a Chrome extension, Router evolved to become a full app for Android and iOS devices. This evolution marks a milestone in its development, offering a more flexible solution for route optimization.
The app integrates seamlessly with Google Maps y Waze, which allows you to import routes in seconds. You just need to enter your destinations and the app will take care of the rest, creating an optimized itinerary.
The Routora app works by using artificial intelligence to optimize routes with multiple stops. Below is how it works:
- Enter Address: The user must manually enter the addresses or points of interest where they want to travel. You can’t choose just one destination, you have to choose more than one, because the idea is to optimize a route.
- Transportation Mode Selection: You can choose between different modes of transportation such as driving, cycling or walking.
- Route Optimization: When you press the “Optimize” button, the application uses algorithms to find the most efficient route between the entered points.
- Combining Maps: One of the most popular features is the ability to integrate with Google Maps y Waze. Once the route is optimized, it can be imported directly into these map applications.
- Calculation of Savings: Routora also provides an estimate of how much time and money (in fuel) you will save by following the optimized route. However, this calculation is noted to be somewhat imprecise, especially when it comes to fuel savings.
- Route Implementation: Finally, by selecting “Start”, the application will open the optimized route in the selected mapping application (Google Maps or Waze), ready to follow.
Despite its usefulness, Routora has certain limitations. The most surprising is the lack of a feature to automatically import addresses, which is very useful for multiple delivery routes. There is also some ambiguity in how it calculates fuel savings.
Routora operates under a model freemium which offers a free version with ads and a Pro version that costs 18 euros per month, reduced to 15 euros for early adopters.
Routora has the potential to change the way logistics and route planning are understood, especially in sectors such as freight transport and tourism. Its continued development may mark the first and last of transportation efficiency.
