At an event held last weekend, the original recipe prevailed, winning first, second and third place in a contest seeking to identify the best coquito in central Florida.
Maria Santa Cruz, who organizes the contest for the third year in a row, explained that in this edition 60 bottles of the creamy drink of Puerto Rican origin were presented and a total of 16 flavors competed.
The first place was won by Camille Herrena; The second position was bagged by Jocelyn Alvarez; And the third place was bagged by Dancy Palma. “All women and all with an original flavor recipe,” Santa Cruz told El Sentinel Orlando.

“The jury looks for a balanced taste, and perhaps when you mix flavors or use stronger or different liquors, you kill the flavor of the coquito and alter the flavor,” explains Santa Cruz. Said perhaps original flavor was planted as the winner in this third edition of Best Coquito in Central Florida.
