Out of 78 people who came to India from Afghanistan, 16 were found to be corona positive, all were quarantined.

New Delhi: Tomorrow Afghanistan Of the 78 people who came to India from India, 16 were found to be corona virus positive, after which 78 were isolated as a precaution.

All 16 of the returnees did not have too many symptoms, but after testing their corona, it was confirmed to be positive.

Among those infected were three glands, which brought back copies of Sikh scriptures from Kabul to India. Union Minister Hardeep Puri, who received a copy of the holy scripture of the Sikhs at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning, tweeted a video of him carrying a copy on his head with reverence.

Due to the deteriorating security situation since the Taliban came to power last week, India has stepped up its efforts to flee its citizens as well as Afghans.

A total of 626 people, including 228 Indians, have been evacuated from Afghanistan so far, Minister Hardeep Puri said. He further mentioned that 77 of them are Afghan Sikhs. The expelled Indian nationals do not include those working in Indian embassies.

India had earlier announced that it would facilitate the repatriation of those willing to leave Afghanistan and said that the country’s Hindus and Sikhs would be given priority.

On August 1, a day after the Taliban seized control of the Afghan capital, New Delhi launched an eviction operation called “Operation Devi Shakti” by airlifting Kabul0 Indians from Kabul to Delhi.

Thousands of Afghans have been crowding around Kabul airport for more than a week in desperate attempts to flee the country for fear of Taliban brutality.
