The Great Diabetes Solidarity March this Saturday, 20 May in Valladolid brings together more than 1,500 people in a festive atmosphere attended by various officials from the worlds of politics, sport and medicine with the aim of giving visibility to this life condition Is. “So much is present in society, but so much unknown at the same time”.
The march is organized by the Valladolid Diabetes Association (ADIVA) and Vallasur, and participants depart from the facilities of the shopping center at 10:30 a.m. along a circular route that passes through Canada Real and Rueda Road. A healthy snack stop at PRAE on the way back to Vallasur.
All this in a festive atmosphere to the rhythm of Sambule Batukada, with activities for the whole family and a raffle for many gifts at the end of March.
ADIVA’s president, Javier García, has indicated that the purpose of this solidarity day is to sensitize people about the “importance” of diabetes, its control and prevention, while stressing that such days are “very important”. Let’s help ,
For his part, Vallasur’s manager, Pablo Pérez, has indicated that the “commitment and solidarity” of the people of Valladolid is reflected in the “great reception” that the Diabetes Solidarity March has received for another year, in which “thousands Citizens have gathered to show their support for one of the most symbolic events for the city of Valladolid, which has already become a benchmark for diabetes awareness and visibility.”
In the same way, Pérez recalled that in Castilla y León alone, more than 300,000 people live with diabetes, although half have not been diagnosed, which is why it is “essential” to raise awareness in society to deal with the life-threatening condition. in which healthy lifestyle habits are “fundamental” to prevent it and avoid possible complications.
