ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has underlined Pakistan’s desire to further develop relations with the United States on the basis of mutual respect, trust and interests.

Recalling the depth and breadth of Pakistan-US relations, the Prime Minister underlined that the various dialogues established between Pakistan and the US are important in strengthening our bilateral ties in the areas of trade, investment, IT, climate change, health, and playing a role. energy.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the United States. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that both the countries would celebrate this historic occasion in an appropriate manner, which would further deepen bilateral and people-to-people ties.
He also stressed the need for more high-level exchanges between the two countries. They emphasized that deepening cooperation will promote peace and stability in Afghanistan and contribute to averting the humanitarian crisis there that was exacerbated by the recent earthquake.
Highlighting the rising wave of Islamophobia in India, Shahbaz Sharif condemned the profane remarks made by two BJP officials about the respected personality of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that deeply hurt the sentiments of Muslims.
He also underlined that India is committing serious human rights violations in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace in the region, he stressed the importance of a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
The Prime Minister called on the international community to discharge its ethical and regulatory obligations, while also calling on India to abide by UN resolutions.
He congratulated the ambassador on the presentation of his credentials and expressed hope that the envoy would dedicate his efforts to deepen and enhance the bilateral relationship between the US and Pakistan.
