Panama U-20 Women were left out of the World Cup

Panama, without units, lost three matches of the Women’s World Cup in Group A, which was led by the United States with 9 points, Canada (6) and Jamaica (3).

The Panama Under-20 women’s team ended its participation in the CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship on Tuesday after going down 4-1 to Jamaica in a match played at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It was lying ,

It was a very physical and tough contest in the middle of the field, where Jamaica knew how to take advantage of the chances they had, especially in the first half which saw them score three times. The goals were the work of Natoya Akinston on 16′, Davia Richards on 32′ from the penalty spot and Maya Raghunandan on 37′.

In the second half, those led by Raiza Gutierrez came out more intense and looked to close the gap on the scoreboard. Nevertheless, on 74′, Jamaica’s Amelia van Zatten would score a penalty to make it 4–0.

It wasn’t until 79′, that Meredith Rojas saved Panama from the penalty spot as well.

The result keeps Jamaica in third place in Group A, while Panama is in last place.

On the other hand, in the second hour, the United States defeated Canada 5–2, and confirmed first place in the group.

The semi-finals of the CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship will be played at the Félix Sánchez Stadium next Friday, 2 June, and will determine the first two teams to book their ticket to the next World Cup.

For its part, the third quota will be defined on Sunday, June 4, when the third and fourth places of the competition will be played.
