The accident happened at 3:35 am near Willigan AG village. According to Aargau Canton police, a white VW drove down in the direction of Villigan from Rotberg. The driver attempted to overtake a Ford in a right-hand turn. VW climbed a turf on the left side of the road, hit a tree and fell down the slope. Police said on Sunday that the car stopped lying on its roof in the forest.
Four Ford riders were not injured. Two of the people aboard the VW, a 25-year-old Dominican and a 33-year-old Italian, were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and rescue helicopter. The other two people died on the spot. According to police, it is a 25-year-old Brazilian and 24-year-old Swiss woman who live in the cantons of Zurich and Lucerne respectively. The car involved in the accident was completely damaged.
As also reported by Aargau Canton Police, everyone in the VW knew each other. He would have spent Saturday at the street parade in Zurich. Why they left from Rotberg towards Willigen early in the morning is still being clarified. The road had to be closed for several hours to get the evidence. The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Aargau is now investigating the exact cause of the accident.
16-year-old dies in motorbike accident
In the announcement, the Cantonal Police also reported an accident involving a 16-year-old man from the Bruges AG area. In front of his colleagues’ eyes, he accelerated his motorcycle at Kolliken AG at around 11am before losing control of the motorcycle after a few meters and crashing into a candelabra. He was seriously injured in the process.
