Paulina Porizkova and Aaron Sorkin have ended yet another surprising but delightful pairing of the past few months, with the former supermodel sharing the news that she and the acclaimed screenwriter have broken up.
Czech-born Porizkova announced this on Instagram, expressing affection for Sorkin, and expressing gratitude that he “helped me heal and reclaim myself.”
Porizkova is likely referring to her heartbreak of losing her longtime husband, Rick Okacek, in 2019. Her Instagram post from Sorkin featured a crumpled-up emoji over a paparazzi photo of the two of them strolling together.
“I am so grateful for his presence in my life,” Porizkova wrote graciously. “He helped me heal and reclaim myself. There really can’t be a better man, no man who’s really ‘nice.’ He’s brilliant and funny and funny and sexy.”
Porizkova describes him as being incompatible for a long romance, though she still cares for him a lot.
“But no matter how much we wish we were birds of a feather – we are still a duck and a goose,” she said.
Porizkova said she would not say further on the matter, as it involved “someone else’s privacy”.
Walking the red carpet together at the Academy Awards in April, Porizkova and Sorkin became one of Hollywood’s hottest new couples. And by Hollywood standards, the two were surprisingly age-appropriate: Porizkova, 56, is only three years younger than Sorkin.
For their debut, Sorkin, in a tux, and Porizkova, in a dazzling gold dress, offered some PDA to the cameras before heading to the ceremony, where Sorkin’s film “The Trial of Chicago 7” was shot for six. was nominated for. Award.
Several days before the Oscars ceremony, Page Six announced that the two had been dating for several months. Yahoo News reported at the time that Porizkova had recently hinted that she had a new man in her life.
Prior to this, Porizkova was linked only to Okacek. She and the lead singer of Cars met in 1984 when she was 19 years old. The two married when he was 24 and he was 45 and had two sons together, Jonathan, 27, and Oliver, 22.
They parted amicably in 2017, but Okacek died suddenly in September 2019 before officially divorcing.
As Page Six reports, Porizkova was stunned to learn that Okacek, who married three times, had cut her off of her own will. Page Six said that with no prenup, she revealed that she was so cash-poor after Rocker’s death that she had to rely on friends to buy groceries.
It seemed that Sorkin had what it takes to fill the void left by such a loss. In an interview, Porizkova shared what she was looking for in a man. Sorkin was married once before and has a daughter.
She told Yahoo News, “What I don’t want is a man who doesn’t listen to me—who treats me as a beautiful and worthy object, not who I am.”
Porizkova also revealed what she finds sexy in a man: “Some women are attracted to really good looking guys or powerful people or rich people; I have always been attracted towards talent. Talent is really sexy for me.”
