Mumbai: CSK registered a resounding victory in the eighth match of the IPL against Punjab Kings on Friday at the Wankhede Stadium Mumbai. Chasing a target of 107 runs, Punjab’s Faf du Plessis scored 33, Moin Ali scored 44 runs. Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad could score only 5 runs. Suresh Raina was out after scoring 8 runs. CSK won by 6 wickets in 15.4 overs.
Deepak Chahar’s havoc
CSK bowler Deepak Chahar wreaked havoc on the Punjab Kings team. Deepak Chahar’s lethal bowling blew the Punjab team’s senses. Deepak bowled a stormy bowler, taking 4 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs. He also bowled a maiden over.
In front of Deepak’s dangerous bowling, the Punjab batsmen started asking for water. He trounced the Punjab Kings team by sending Mayank Agarwal to 0, Chris Gayle to 10, Deepak Hooda to 10 and Nicholas Pooran to 10. Deepak’s bowling won the applause of the cricket lovers.
CSK won the toss and decided to bowl first. Moin Ali and Dwayne Bravo got one wicket each. Sam Karen gets a wicket. In front of Deepak’s dangerous bowling, the legendary Punjab team could score only 106 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Shahrukh Khan shines
Shah Rukh Khan, who is making his IPL debut for Punjab, batted hard. He scored 47 runs off 36 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. However he missed by three runs. Jay Richardson scored 15, KL Rahul 5, Mohammed Shami scored 9 runs.
