British car manufacturer MG has set a milestone of selling 1 lakh vehicles in India. It took the company 3 years to reach this stage. The company had entered the Indian market in 2019 with Hector. Following Hector’s success, the company continued to grow its portfolio. Apart from Hector, the company is also selling ZS EV, premium SUV Gloster and compact SUV Astor in India.

At present the company has a plant with an early production capacity of 80,000 wheelers at Halol, Gujarat. About 2,500 employees work here.
MG Hector: The company’s car also features keyless entry, push button start, electric parking brake with auto hold, telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel and chrome finished door handles. Apart from the sunroof, all these features are available only in the petrol-CVT variant of Shine Trim. The company has used 17-inch alloy wheels, while the top model has 18-inch wheels. The company has introduced this new variant in Havana gray color. It can be bought in both petrol and diesel options. In its petrol version, the company has used a 1.5 liter capacity turbo petrol engine which generates 143hp of power. The diesel version has a 2.0 liter capacity engine which generates 170hp of power. Both these engines come with 6 speed manual transmission gearbox.

MG Astor: This is the petrol version of the company’s own electric SUV ZS. The company is offering MG Astor with 1.5 liter natural aspirated engine (110hp) and 1.3 liter turbo petrol engine (140hp power). Its 1.3 liter engine comes with a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5 liter engine comes with 5 speed manual and 8-step CVT automatic transmission gearbox. This special technology used in MG Astor uses a multipurpose camera, which will give different features while driving. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Drive Assist (RDA), Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC) and Speed.

MG Gloster: The MG Gloucester has two diesel engines. It has 2.0-liter turbo diesel and 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engines. The first engine generates power of 163 PS and peak torque of 375 Nm, while the second engine generates power of 218 PS and peak torque of 480 Nm. They come with the option of 8-speed automatic transmission. While the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine is offered with rear-wheel-drive setup, the 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel motor gets four-wheel drive. This full-size SUV comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Connected Car features. It also has features like a large panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, Level-1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). For safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist, Auto Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist.
MG ZS EV: This electric car has a bigger 50.3kWH battery than before. Earlier it had a 44.7kWh battery unit. The new battery delivers 143bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. It claims to achieve speeds of 0-100 km / h in just 8.5 seconds. The new ZS Electric claims to offer a range of 461km on a single charge. The older model claimed to give 419km on full charge. The new ZS EV 2022 features a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, Android and Apple CarPlay connectivity. In addition to the rear passengers, the ZS EV also has rear air conditioning vents for comfort. The ZS EV was introduced by MG Motor in 2020.
