Perotti on the SF500 Fund: “We’re opening a path, and the solid results are very encouraging”

The Governor of the province, Omar Perotti, participated this Thursday in the city of Rosario in the balance and year-end activity of the SF500 program, which aims to contribute to the creation of biotechnology startups throughout the province. “We are opening a path and we are winning, and the concrete results are very encouraging and strengthen the decision made,” said the President.

“The public sector is the one that will have to come up with the support for the challenges,” Perotti said. And he added: “There was no science lobby, and the recognition that Argentina has in the world must be strengthened and supported every day, and this is an opportunity to do so.”

“We are convinced that there will be many breakthroughs to strengthen the Fund and open up more opportunities,” the governor predicted, adding: “The future potential of companies lies in this sector; they are an option that needs to be made to excite our talents. Is”.

In his turn, Francisco Bukhara, Executive Director of SF500, took stock of the work done in 2022, with 17 companies already engaged. “We see it can be done, we are very pleased with this first year as a team; There is an intangible asset of people, who contribute to doing relevant things and doing good”, he said.

Meanwhile, Federico Trucco, CEO of Bioceres, thanked the governor for his “strong support” for the program and stressed that “this is a cultural change; we’ve already won. We know there’s a long way to go.” But it is a good start and I am sure we will achieve the end goal.

The meeting was attended by Marina Baima, Secretary, Science, Technology and Innovation; Conicet, INTA executives, community members and SF500 startups, company employees and strategic partners.

The SF500 is a project that stems from the initiative of Bioceres, the province of Santa Fe, and different actors of the Santa Fe innovation community.

It seeks to foster the development of an ecosystem based on life sciences, creating conditions for fostering entrepreneurial teams.

This dynamic ecosystem is composed of state technology centers, national universities, investors, accelerators, startups, entrepreneurial talent, companies and organizations supporting the presence of educational and scientific systems.
