Tampa, Fla. (WNN) — Corey Perry and Steven Stamkos scored two goals each as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Florida Panthers 6-2 in a preseason game Thursday night.
Anthony Cirelli and Pat Maroon also scored for Tampa Bay and Brian Elliott made 21 saves.
Joe Thornton and Owen Tippett scored for the Panthers. Spencer Knight started and allowed three goals on 17 shots during the first two periods, and Christopher Gibson dropped three goals on six shots in the third.
NEWARK, NJ (WNN) — The New Jersey Devils’ game against the New York Islanders was called off due to a power outage.
Lights went out in a part of the Prudential Center before the start of the game and could not be restored. After consultation with the NHL and the Islanders, it was decided that the conditions were unsuitable for both teams and the game was cancelled.
The Devils finished the preseason 4–1–0 and made their regular season debut at home on October 15 against Chicago.
The Islanders are 3-0-1 and close out the preseason at the New York Rangers on Saturday. The Islanders will visit Carolina on October 14 and open a section of 13 straight across the road to begin the season, while construction will finish on UBS Arena, their new home next to the Belmont Park racetrack.

DETROIT (WNN) – Joe Valeno had a goal and an assist, and Thomas Grease blocked 22 shots to help Detroit beat Pittsburgh.
Pius Sutter, Philipp Hroneck and Tyler Bertuzzi also scored for the Red Wings. Valeno scored a tie-breaking goal with 4 1/2 minutes remaining, and Bertuzzi added a blank-netter in the final minute.
Drew O’Connor and Dominic Simon scored for Pittsburgh, and Casey Desmith made 33 saves.

MONTREAL (WNN) – Josh Norris scored twice in regulation and was the winner in the fifth round of the shootout to lift Ottawa in front of Montreal.
Shane Pinto and Chris Tierney also scored in regulation for the Senators. Anton Forsberg had 18 saves.
Jeff Petrie had two goals, Nick Suzuki added one goal and an assist, and Josh Anderson also scored for Montreal. Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Romanov each had two assistants. Jake Allen finished with 28 saves.
Joel Armia scored in the fourth round for Montreal, and Connor Brown in his attempt to tie it for the Senators. Forsberg rejected Toffoli on Canada’s next attempt before Norris won.

DALLAS (WNN) – Michael Raffle and Josh Robertson scored and Anton Khudobin blocked 26 shots to help Dallas beat Colorado.
Roop Hintz also scored for the Stars, and Joe Pawelski made two assists.
JT Komper scored for the Avalanche, and Darcy Kumper scored 26 saves.
