Surabaya (center) — Persebaya Surabaya supporters, Bonek, vent their anger at the Gelora Delta Stadium in Sidorjo, East Java, on Thursday, 15 September 2022, after their favorite team lost again. Persebaya was humiliated by its guest RANS Nusantara FC 1–2 in the continuation of the Indonesian Ligue 1.

The defeat was the third in a row the team took the nickname of Bazul Ijo. Earlier on Saturday (10/9) Persebaya conceded a 0-3 defeat when they traveled to PSM Makassar headquarters and lost 0-1 against Bali United at home on Friday (2/9).

Hundreds of boneks immediately descended from the stands at the Gelora Delta Sidorzo Stadium and entered the field as soon as the referee sounded a long whistle indicating the end of the match. They vent their frustration and anger.

A pitchside billboard was damaged after becoming the target of outrage. Meanwhile, several unscrupulous supporters also targeted other facilities at the Gelora Delta Sidorjo Stadium, such as damage to the player’s bench.

“We are disappointed, the fans are disappointed,” said the outcry heard between the scenes of Persabaya supporters entering the arena.

The chaos didn’t just happen inside the stadium, Bonek expressed his dismay outside the Gelora Delta Sidorjo as well. The action forced the police to work extra hard to defuse the situation.

Outside the stadium, fans continued to shout their anger, as in ten matches Alvi Slamet et al won only three times, drew one, and the remaining six resulted in zero points.

The defeat against RANS further worsened Persabaya’s position in the Liga 1 standings, finishing 13th with a collection of 10 points or only two points a safe distance from the relegation zone.

After the match, Persebaya’s coach Aji Santoso admitted that he was disappointed with the result against RANS. However, Aji said he was ready to take responsibility for the defeat.

“We are aware of the attitude of the supporters because Persabaya lost. In the previous situation it is in the headlines because there is no Rizki Ridho and Leo Lellis, everything is new,” he said.

“We will evaluate everything,” he said. I am ready to take the responsibility of this defeat as the head coach also.

If they are saved from the trend of premature dismissals, which has become a pandemic in Liga 1 Indonesia, Aji will take Persebaya to visit Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency on 1 October to challenge Arema FC. Will go
