Peru: 589 Venezuelan trafficking victims rescued

LIMA ( Associated Press) – Peru police said on Wednesday that so far this year they have rescued more than half a thousand Venezuelan women, some minors, in various campaigns against human trafficking.

General Ulysses Guillén, head of the Police Directorate against Human Trafficking and Migrant Trafficking, told The Associated Press that from January to early October, police crackdowns found more Venezuelan women than Peruvian victims.
