Monterrey.- A police officer from Pesqueria, Nuevo León, died in the line of duty last Christmas Eve and over the Christmas weekend, Mayor Patricio Lozano announced.
Although he did not specify the exact date, the mayor reported the incident this Saturday on his Instagram account, where he issued a brief statement in addition to expressing his condolences to the family of the missing man in uniform.
“I can’t sleep, my broken heart is thinking about the family and the fallen element of our Municipal Police (…) We don’t have a Merry Christmas today. Rest in peace!” Lozano posted on the morning of December 24. .
Official sources said the officer was identified as 29-year-old Francisco Javier Estanol Garcia, whose honor guard was held at the municipal C4 facilities this Sunday, led by the mayor himself.
“I call on the federal government, I call on the state government, I call on Governor Samuel García, I also call on the prosecutor’s office to support what is being done in the municipality.
