Thousands of environmental activists rally in front of the German parliament on Friday, two days before the country’s national elections, to urge policymakers to take more decisive action to curb climate change.

The protest outside the Reichstag in Berlin was part of a series of rallies around the world, including Japan, the UK, Italy and India, amid warnings that the planet is facing dangerously high temperatures if greenhouse gas emissions are not drastically reduced in the coming years.
