The Atlanta Braves led the World Series 7–0 over the Houston Astros, led by Braves starter Max Fried, who played six shutout innings. He left four hits, hit sixes and no one went.

The Houston Astros won over the Braves on Sunday, then led the series 3-1, but the Braves’ pitching and hitting dominated Game 6.

It was the winner of the most one-sided series since Kansas City’s 11–0 win over St. Louis in Game 7 in 1985.

The Astros were 51-30 in home games in 2021. Houston’s team has a slugging percentage of .403, after this season.

The length of this year’s Games drew attention. The first five series games averaged 3 hours, 41 minutes, over 3:37 for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ six-game win over Tampa Bay last year. The opener took 4:06 and Game 5 went on for exactly 4 hours, both ending after midnight on the East Coast.

Game 6 marked only the second time in 12 seasons that a World Series game was played after November 1. Since the 2009 World Series ended with the New York Yankees winning Game 6 on November 4, it was the only other World Series game. What was played was Game 7 of the late 2016 World Series when the Chicago Cubs beat Cleveland on November 2.
