Poland’s Border Guards spokeswoman Evelina Szepanska said the presence of guards, police and military along the border had been strengthened.
She said it can be seen in videos posted online that migrants are heading northeast for a crossing in Kuज़नnica.
Stanisaw Zarin, a spokesman for Poland’s security services, posted a video on Twitter showing hundreds of people walking down the street.
“Very worrying information from the border,” said Zareen
Since the summer, Poland has been under increasing pressure from migrants from the Middle East and Africa trying to enter the European Union. Poland is stopping these efforts or deporting those coming back to Belarus.
Warsaw and the European Union say it is an organized action by the Belarusian government aimed at destabilizing the bloc in retaliation for Western sanctions.
The Polish Border Guard has reported incidents of hostile behavior and threats by Belarusian forces directed across the border at Polish forces.
