United States (US) police say they have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of 4 Muslim men in the city of Albuquerque in the United States state of New Mexico. The perpetrator is the driver of the vehicle in which the murder is suspected.
The murder had sparked a homicide last week after a man’s body was found near an office providing services for refugees, AFP reported on Wednesday (10/8/2022). The local police then linked the discovery of the body to the murder of three others last year.
Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina revealed on his Twitter account that he had tracked down a vehicle in the city of Albuquerque at the time of the killings. He said the driver was also arrested and became the prime suspect in the murder.
“We are tracking a vehicle believed to be involved in the recent murder of a Muslim man in Albuquerque,” he wrote.
“The driver is in custody and he is our prime suspect in the murder.”
Meanwhile, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, condemned the murder. He promised unity and support.
“I am deeply saddened and saddened by the gruesome murder of four Muslim men in Albuquerque,” Biden AS said on Twitter.
“While we await a full investigation, my prayers are with the families of the victims, and my administration supports the Muslim community. This hate attack has no place in America.”
