In the early hours of this Tuesday, violent events were recorded in different sectors of the Metropolitan region. One of them happened in La Florida, where an Investigative Police (PDI) officer resisted the theft of his father’s car using his service weapon. The former officer allegedly had an argument with the victims, causing him to break the windows of their home. When he was reprimanded, he fired six shots, three each, leaving the mother seriously injured.
Meanwhile, in Curacaví, an elderly couple was attacked in their plot. A group of criminals entered the place, beat them and tied their hands and feet. Currently, it is estimated that the value of the stolen goods they stole including jewelry and money is around $3 million.
Finally, in the commune of Independencia, Carabineros managed to arrest six people involved in the theft of cables. In particular, they were discovered to have committed the crime, while pretending to be members of a telecommunications company. When they were detained, the police seized almost 1 ton of cables, worth $16 million.
