Addressing his resignation letter to KPCC President DK Shivakumar, the former state MLA and minister said, “I have decided not to accept the post of Vice President of KPCC and tender my resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party.”
In the letter, Madhavraj said that “the situation of the Congress party in Udupi district for the last three years has been a bad experience for me, causing political suffocation and the facts of which have been brought to your notice and communicated to the other party.” . Leader by me.”
Madhavraj wrote, “I have noticed that no meaningful step has been taken by the party for redressal of my grievances regarding the prevailing situation in Udupi District Congress Party.”
Last year, Madhavraj courted a controversy after he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conferring Padma Vibhushan posthumously on Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji.
Madhavraj had said that the practice of prescribing Padma awardees has changed after the BJP government came to power at the Centre.
