Pratteln. 30 days to party in

It will take about a month for the Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) to begin. But already on July 29, Prateln will have its first break. There is a community events village right next to the ESAF site.

Its head – a replica of a salt derrick – is twelve meters high and weighs seven tons. Carpenter Andreas Lerch made it. As he explains, they first wanted to relocate an existing Saltworks tower. But this was not possible because storks build their nest there. So Lerch himself made one. In times of shortage of wood is no easy task. So the tower was a perfect landing.

A beach bar with a hanging garden is being built next to the tower. The open-air stage is ahead. An event hall has also been built in case of rain. Felix Bielser, known as the organizer of the “Ü-parties”, ensures that something always works on behalf of the municipality.

As Felix Bielser points out, this area is free and accessible without any prior registration. Only some events cost admission and require reservations. For example, the program features the appearance of comedian Peach Weber. Many clubs are involved. Some are now organizing their programs in the program village. For example, Gugge Nachtfalter Schranzer’s butterfly night takes place here, as is the community’s national celebration and the Sausage Salad World Championship.

“We can do this by Friday”

Pratelen provides the infrastructure. However, no tax money should flow into the incident village. Marcel Schaub, head of security and services, says: “The municipality has made a bet to me: it should cost the community nothing.” The municipality takes care of the infrastructure. This was made financially possible by the community and several companies. “We have too many sponsors, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to do this,” says Marcel Schaub.

Timing is critical for construction work. To Opening July 29 There are only two days left. Marcel Schaub is convinced, even if not everything is ready: “Even if we have to put in the night shift: we can do it, it has to be there – and then we offer the population something great. look forward to”.
