Governor Raul Jalil, accompanied by UNCA rector, Oscar Arellano, visited the facilities of the former “Nestor Kirchner” Industrial Technical Higher Institute (ISTI), where classes will be taught and various academic activities of medicine careers will be developed.
Lieutenant Governor Ruben Dusso also participated in the tour; Education Minister, Andrea Centurion; the Minister of Health, Manuela Avila; The provincial deputy, Claudia Palladino, and the Academic Secretary of the University.
The officials visited three classrooms in which repairs are being done, especially in the bathrooms and the ceiling. In addition, work is being done on the electricity system and the rooms are adapted for the dictation of the first group of medical careers in the province.
The renovations are part of an agreement between the rectorate of UNCA and the provincial government, which will be implemented to renovate the facilities (located on Calle La Rioja and Dr. Armando Correa) in pursuit of teaching careers classes. Our province in the coming months.
Rector Oscar Arellano expressed his gratitude for the government support. “We visited the venue that the Governor made available for the race to be held. Governor Raul Jalil appreciated the work done with the UNCA and the nation’s Ministry of Education for the implementation of the degree and said: “We are working, repairing the facilities, so that the medicine degree can be taught here at ISTI The idea is to start with this location to move forward, and within the agreement signed with UNCA, we are going to work on loan so that the races are scheduled and established in this location that is part of such an important neighborhood.
He also recalled that the tender for the work of the Technical Center in Capayan, located at the Agrotechnical School, is already underway, and that they are working with the University on other important projects. “We are in talks to sign an agreement with the university to contribute funds from the province and to complete the technical center they are building in Bethlehem.”
In this sequence, Raul celebrated the possibility of creating opportunities for the many Catamaran men and women who did not have the possibility to study because of the problem of access. “Implementing the Medicine degree in Catamarca means creating opportunities for many Catamarcan men and women who do not have the chance to study in another province. This step we are taking is very important for the youth”, he concluded.
Process
The implementation of Medicine in Catamarca has its origins in an agreement signed in 2021 by the Government of Catamarca with the National University of Tucumán and the UNCA.
With the approval of the Superior Council of the UNCA, the project was sent to the nation’s Ministry of Education, which in turn submitted it to the National University Assessment and Accreditation Commission (CONEAU).
The course will last for 6 years and will be organized into an introductory training cycle, a basic training cycle, a pre-clinical training cycle, a clinical training cycle and a compulsory final practicum. It will be a degree course with a workload of 6,002 hours, divided into different cycles, individually and permanently.
