This Thursday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, insisted that workers and workers’ producer councils (CPTTs) must respond to the demands of the working class through democracy and efficiency.
During a meeting with the CPTT of the industrial sector of the state of Carabobo, the President urged to guarantee the leading role of these 2,400 organizations with union figures within the companies.
«No CPTT can be left behind. This has to be clarified further and in depth for the workers. There cannot be an elite CCPT (…) they have to be expressed to grassroots workers (…) we must have a democratic and efficient CPTT,” he said.
Likewise, President Maduro urged the entire working class to rebel against bureaucratic and elite affairs that may arise within the CPTT.
« I also know that there are CPTTs that don’t work. I call upon the working class of the country: wherever the CPTT is bogus and false, assemble there and remove it. They name a new CPTT that actually responds to the interests of the working class. workers’ revolt against the bureaucracy and the elite,” ordered the head of state.
On the other hand, the dignitary ordered the Labor Minister, Francisco Torrealba, and the Head of the Industry Portfolio, Hipólito Abreu, to seek more investments and provide the CPTT with all possible tools to activate the productivity of strategic companies. “The order is given: to keep all companies in the hands of the CPTT producer and receive guarantees and all investments,” he insisted.
