Next weekend won’t be another for the house of RM Sotheby’s for two reasons. While there will be a spectacular auction of dozens of luxury cars on May 20 at Villa Erba, a historic mansion built on Lake Como in Italy, there will be a unique moment. Among them, on the other hand, stands out the “Black on Black” collection, composed of five exponents of the Ferrari Testarossa range.
Intriguingly, there are five black exponents, which at the time was unthinkable for the model of the Maranello house, which was managed by Enzo. These models belong to versions of different years, from the inauguration in 1984 to 1996, the last installment of this iconic car produced by the Italian manufacturer.
All these prestigious variants of the individual Ferrari Testarossa command the bizarre sum of 550,000 Euros. Although each one has a specialty, they all belong to the group of so-called dark cars produced by the Prancing Horse brand. Below are the details of all of them:
5- Ferrari Testarossa “Monospacchio”: 180,000 euros

The Ferrari Testarossa “Monospacchio” is a model from 1986, born from the original model presented at the Paris Motor Show. Its outstanding detail is in its exterior: it only has one mirror on the driver’s side. The chassis number is 63349, and the current color is called “Nero on Nero”, a shade for the United States market only.
4- Ferrari Testarossa “Monodado”: 180.000 euros

Like the previously mentioned model, it is called the Ferrari Testarossa “Monodado” and was built from the 1986 version. Its special aspects include seat belts and relocation of the odometer from the center console to the speedometer. This includes 16-inch magnesium wheels with central locking “monodado”, hence the name.
This is a chassis with the number 69039, and its interior is fully painted Nero over Nero leather with matching carpet and dashboard by the Lake Forest Sports Cars firm in 1987. It has even received a platinum award at a meeting of the Ferrari club. of North America in Monterey in 2015.
3- Ferrari Testarossa: 150,000 Euros

Among the dark Italian cars, a Ferrari Testaora from 1989 also stands out. Equipped with a 4943 cc “V” 12-cylinder engine, it is capable of delivering maximum power of 385 hp, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h. 5.7 sec and top speed of 290 km/h. According to RM Sotheby’s, his chassis number is 81603, and he is one of the big stars of this stellar family of prancing horse icons.
2- Ferrari 512 TR: 250,000 Euro

The Ferrari 512 TR is one of the most aggressive models of the Testarossa saga due to its various changes and technological advances introduced in the 90s. This model is powered by a 4.9-litre V12 engine capable of producing a maximum power of 428 hp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 inches and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.
1- Ferrari F512 M
The last black Ferrari to build, an F512 M, ends the Testarossa dynasty.
The Ferrari 512M, from 1994, added the letter “M” for “Modifietta”. And, this edition is the last of the saga that makes up the group of dark cars from Maranello that will be auctioned in Italy next Saturday. It was the most revolutionary version of the Testarossa family and was powered by a 4.9-litre V12 capable of producing 446 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7″ and clocks a top speed of 315 km/h.
