Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge
Happy Birthday to Prince Louis!
Ahead of the young royal’s fourth birthday yesterday, Kensington Palace released four new portraits of Louis, drawn by mom Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. In the photos, the youngest of the Cambridges wear a collared shirt under a gray sweater – a look reminiscent of dad Prince William’s style – and teal shorts while playing on the beach.
Duchess Kate, long known for her love of photography, has previously taken intimate photos of her children that offer a glimpse into royal life. They also took official birthday photos for Prince George’s eighth birthday last year.
Louis was last seen at Cambridge’s 2021 holiday card, in which he was photographed with older brother George and six-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, as well as William and Kate. Families, dressed in varying shades of green and blue moss, smile together while sitting against an outdoor, rocky backdrop. The picture was shot during a family trip to Jordan earlier that year.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, public attendance of Cambridge children has been minimal, although George and Charlotte with their parents at Prince Philip’s memorial service in March and the last Easter Sunday service held at St George’s Chapel went. Duchess Kate previously opened up about adjusting to the “new normal” in an interview with Louis bbc breakfastsaying, “Louis doesn’t understand social distancing. He goes all out to hug anything, especially any child younger than himself.”
Swipe forward to see all four photos from Prince Louis’s birthday.
