Production of this car giving Dhansu mileage has started, see when it will be launched in India

Honda Cars has started production of the electric hybrid version of its popular sedan City. Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) said on Tuesday that the new Honda City E: HEV will be launched early next month. This vehicle is being manufactured in a factory at Tapukara, Rajasthan.

The company said customers can book the new Honda City E: HEV at dealerships across the country with a booking amount of Rs 21,000. The car can also be booked online through the company’s website. Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of HCIL, said the initiative demonstrates the commitment to bring advanced technologies to Indian customers. “As a company, we will always promote eco-friendly technologies along with the Government of India’s Make in India approach,” he said.

Engine, mileage

This new model gives a certified mileage of 26.5kmpl. It has become the second highest mileage vehicle in India with petrol engine. New City E: The HEV comes with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson bicycle petrol engine coupled with two electric motors. While the petrol motor generates 98bhp of power with 127Nm, the electric motor delivers 109bhp of power from 0 rpm to 253Nm.

The City Hybrid has a 0.734kWh lithium-ion battery that weighs 14.5kgs. It has three drive modes – engine drive (runs on petrol engine only), EV drive (runs on electric motor only) and hybrid drive (runs on a combination of both).

8 year warranty on battery

New City E: Customers with HEV are getting 3 years unlimited kilometers warranty. At the same time the company is offering an extended warranty of up to 5 years from the date of purchase of the car and up to 10 years of anytime warranty as an option. The warranty on lithium-ion batteries is being given for 8 years or 1 60,000 km from the date of purchase of the car.
