Segovian bands will be the protagonists of this year’s edition of the diverse music festival, which will be held from May 25 to June 3 and will feature 18 events with local but also national artists. Programming will take place in the Jardín de los Zuloaga, Plaza de San Martín, Plaza de Artilleria, Esteban Vicente Museum, Palacio de Quintanar, Torreón de Lozoya and some catering establishments.
Friday 26 May
Dani Hernandez will delight us with his flamenco group composed of guitar, vocals and percussion. This young man from Segovia has been on stage since the age of 15, performing as a soloist and performing concerts in various musical groups. The performance is sponsored by the Segovia Provincial Council, and will take place at 8:00 pm at the Esteban Vicente Museum of Contemporary Art. Ticket price: €7.
On the same day, a novel performance is held within the festival, the Rarabanda wine tasting by A la Volle, accompanied by powerful American music by Frank Harvey in an extraordinary setting such as the Torreón de Lozoya from 9:00 am to 9:00 am. Frank Harvey: (country blues • rock and roll), develops a repertoire inspired by the sounds of the ’50s, including songs by pioneers of the genre such as Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins… Ticket price : €16.
Saturday 27 May
The traditional battle of the bands returns to vermouth time in the Plaza de San Martín. The protagonists on this occasion will be the Banda de los Manas (rock) and Ubik (pop rock), two Segovian groups with well-known musicians from the local scene. Notable is the special contribution of La Rampa (rehearsal room and recording studio) to the event, which is part of the creation of one of the most attractive programs for festival goers.
In the afternoon, The Black Beat (selected in the call), a band from Castellón, will perform, evoking British music from the 60’s, 70’s, mod, glam and hard rock cultures… We will be at their powerful live concert starting at 6 p.m. can enjoy the show. :00 ph In the Plaza de Artilleria, between the establishments of La Bientirada and Restaurante Caceres, allies in action.
On the same day and for the third year in a row, III Divertronic will take place at Jardín de los Zuloaga, an event focused on electronic music, with participation from Nico Batia, Russo, Carlos DJ G, Arroz and Zag. It is one of the activities focused on the young audience, as it is they who enjoy this music genre the most. The installation collaborates in the creation of the La Luna phenomenon. At 7:30 in the Palacio de Quintanar, Marta Revuelta, a Segovian who has been on stage for more than 20 years and performs concerts both solo and with various musical groups (Pangaea, Algrabia, Aiquim, Álvaro Frile…). , On this occasion, he will delight us with his project called “Canciones de hoy y de siempre”. Free admission till full seats.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. again in Torreón de Lozoya, La Ruta de los Colamos, led by Jorge Marazu, gathers that popular, traditional and flamenco spirit through a show that includes copla, tango, Argentine The world of Zamba, is included. Bolero, Mexican Ranchera… This event is supported by Coca-Cola. Ticket price: €12.
Saturday June 3
We return to Plaza de San Martín to enjoy the tomacos (selected at call) starting at 1:30 pm. Band from Madrid in the style of comic vaudeville with influences of traditional American music, hillbilly, bluegrass, swing and Charleston… The Tomokos could well pass for a band of musicians from the 20s of the last century. Party music, dancing, toasts and having a good time… On this occasion, we will have SegoSwing, the recently formed Segovian association, which will add the most danceable vocals to the event.
At 7:30 pm in the Palacio de Quintanar, Zanfol performs, a band composed of 4 Segovian musicians accompanied by bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, flutes and strings, recovering the essence of 15th-century, his vision of traditional music and enriching it with the themes of his creation. Free admission till full seats.
There will be a performance of puppets and lust from 9:00 pm in the Zuluoga Gardens.
Títeres (Selected in the Call) will begin, a young Segovian band created in 2018. In March 2022 he presented his debut album “Dónde Moran los Payos”, the essence of which is urban rock, with lots of punch and distortion. Lots of will and great projection for this band of land.
We are particularly excited in this edition of Luzuria, a seminal group of national heavy metal and pro Segovians, who have been on the road for over 30 years, with a unique history and a philosophy that has always accompanied them: “Either we are free Whether we are or not we are nothing.” Undoubtedly, the final climax of an edition of Musica Diversa whose main protagonists are relevant groups from the local scene.
The lineup is completed with sessions by local DJs Pomusic, Mr. Bars and DJ Migui, to be held at Clandestino Bar, and Movers Selectors Collective, who will hold a session in vinyl format at Ruby Bar.
