Through an official statement this Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Ministry of Education announced provisions for all educational units in the country to control the rise in respiratory diseases.
Linked to the provisions of the National Emergency Steering Committee (CoE), the Ministry of Education indicates that:
- Mandatory use of masks is provided for in closed places of institutions, as well as in school transport. It recommends the use of masks in open spaces when there are large scale functions or there is a group of people and there is not enough social distancing.
- Activate biosafety protocols: frequent hand washing, use of alcohol or antibacterial gel, and ventilation of enclosed spaces.
In case of symptoms:
If students show symptoms, they should remain in voluntary isolation for five days. Absences will be condoned and they will be able to pursue academic activities on the days of absence.
The ministry clarified that if prior to five days, a student tests negative for COVID-19 or influenza, they will be able to return to classes; But constantly observing biosecurity measures.
For their part, educational personnel must undergo a Covid-19 and influenza test at the nearest health center and, if the result is positive, telework for five days.
