Punjab government is protecting gangster Mukhtar Ansari shamelessly: UP government accuses him of collusion

The Uttar Pradesh government and the Punjab government are face to face in the Supreme Court regarding Bahubali mafia Mukhtar Ansari. During the hearing on the same matter, on Wednesday (February 24, 2021), Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in the court said on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government that the Punjab government was shamelessly saving a gangster. Between the state government of Punjab and Ansari Collusion Charged.

Explain that the state police filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday to transfer Mukhtar Ansari to the jail of Uttar Pradesh. The case was to be heard today, but shortly after the hearing began, the court postponed it for the next week. Now this case will be heard in the court on 2 March. Meanwhile, there was a lot of fuss and sharp talk on both sides.

Ansari’s lawyer Mukul Rohatgi said that Mukhtar Ansari is a small man and the UP government was deliberately harassing him. On this, Tusshar Mehta on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government said that if he is a small man, then why is the Punjab government shamelessly standing behind it? On this statement of Tusshar Mehta, Ansari’s lawyer Rohatgi said that if he is so important then why not make him Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh? On this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also quipped that this is what the Punjab government is doing.

It is noteworthy that Mukhtar Ansari is currently lodged in Ropar Jail in Punjab on a murder charge. Before the hearing in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, the UP government filed an affidavit seeking his custody. The UP government wants to settle Ansari by bringing the jail to UP and settle the newly registered lawsuits, and on the other hand, the Punjab government repeatedly refuses to release Mukhtar from jail on one pretext.

Talking about last year, there was news in October that 50 policemen from UP have left for Punjab to take him and will be brought in an armored car in the state. However, it was later learned that the UP police, who had gone back to Uttar Pradesh from Ropar Jail in Punjab, had to return empty-handed to Mukhtar Ansari. Upon reaching Punjab, the UP police was told that Ansari has been called a 3-month bed rest by the doctor.
