Concerts, children’s shows, correfoc, holi quart, mascletàs, processions and dozens of activities for all ages, tastes and audiences have excited and excited thousands of people in Quart de Poblet, it was unforgettable celebrations. The mentalist Toni Pons was not the only one to hypnotize the residents of the neighborhood and people who came from other communities, attracted by the festive atmosphere and activities of the municipality of l’Horta Sud. The Cant de la Carxofa organized by the Clavaria del Santísimo Christ of the Sufferers, the dance, the Clavaria de la Buena Muerte, the Roda de Foc and the Passejà de la Clavaria de San Onofre or the Nit de Albaes and the pyrotechnics that the Dedicated to Mare de Déu de la Llum, locals and locals have mesmerized visitors.
The mayor of Quart de Poblet, Cristina Mora, has highlighted the festive spirit and unity that characterizes her community. The rain was not an obstacle to the development of such legendary events as Menja’t Quart, the gastronomic route through the bars of the municipality attended by many people, or the Passejà. The Amistat Musical Group and the Group of Tablas and Dolçainas accompanied Sant Onofre and the entourage during the tour, which also included the spectacular “Flying Wheels” and the dazzling Castle.
Quart de Poblet has brought together top groups in the music scene such as Tallarina On Tour, Celtas Cortos or The Wizard of OZ, bringing together hundreds of people.
Even weather conditions were no obstacle to the celebration of Holi Quart, the water festival where hundreds of youth, children and adults enjoyed a fun, colorful race culminating in a mobile disco.
Culture for everyone
But there was also room for cultural events throughout the week, offering music, art and shows for both children and adults. The opening of the Q-ART festival and the exhibition of works by the Friends of Fine Arts association marked the start of a month full of artistic talent and the autumn cultural programme. On the other hand, performances such as that of the mentalist Toni Pons, the Band Festival or the tribute to Joaquín Sabina y Serrat have taken place on the esplanade next to the library. The children enjoyed proposals such as “Lío en la granja” or “Canta canalla” in San Onofre Park.
But undoubtedly these days had a marked liturgical character, in which the residents demonstrated their devotion with special acts such as the Night of Lights and the Night of the Dawn in honor of the Mother of God of Light, an exciting and magical evening where the Clavarios demonstrate their fervor with the praise of the patroness and later with the singing of “Albaes” through the village. Another unforgettable moment was the act “La Artxofa” attended by Amics de la Passejà de Sant Onofre, an invited organization that organized the 300th anniversary of this event. On this occasion, the girl Ana Villena Andrés interpreted “the motet” in a masterly way to live intensely the day of Christ of the Sufferers.
The dance around the Virgin, organized by the Clavaria de la Mare de Déu de la Bona Mort, was another emotional moment of the patron saint celebrations.
Now the city gives way to the celebrations of the Moors and Christians, who begin Thursday at 8:00 p.m. with the assembly of the castle and the proclamation of the celebrations. On Friday from 20:00 the arquebuses will thunder with the replica of Alardo, Estafeta, Embajada Mora and the battle. An evening that ends with a mobile disco “Noche de la Ruta” by the legendary Ximo Bayo and Kike Jaén. The highlight will be the great procession of the Moors and Christians on Saturday evening, a majestic and spectacular parade. The final touch to the celebrations will be the recreation of the Battle of Pla de Quart.
The town hall, the clavarias, the neighborhood festival commissions, the corporate bodies and above all the residents turned their heads and enjoyed the celebrations.
