Queen Elizabeth II died on the 8th of October at Balmoral Castle, in Britain. And although six months have passed since his death, the royal family must continue with their exclusive customs at certain times. One of them is Christmas, in which the Monarch used to offer the first meal to the royal family.

In this practice, dozens of members of the royal family meet with the monarch in Buckingham Palace, in an institution led by Queen Elizabeth II herself, who will make the final appointment in December 2021. The Queen’s tradition of eating at Sandringham is offered. -Turkey raised. Class fit cookies and family company have been quite a tradition, something that the new King Carlos III hopes to maintain.

But unlike in previous years, on Christmas 2012 and first offered by King Carlos III, there was a meeting between the royal family at Windsor Castle. Unlike previous editions, this time the meeting place was not Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth II received her guests a few days before the Christmas celebration.

In the first year of Christmas without Queen Elizabeth II, the Countess of West Saxon, Sophia, and her husband, Prince Edward, arrived in the place next to the kings, Carlos III and Camila Parker. Ludovica, the couple’s daughter, was also present. Also present at the Christmas dinner of Timothy Lawrence and Princess Anne were Charles III and Camilla at Windsor.

In 2022, the family headed back to Sandringham, the town where Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed the December festivities and where she would come to Norfolk from London. In which state the Monarch remained until the Kalends of February, the day of the anniversary of his father’s death and of his ascension to the throne; but in the coming of the pandemic, the late queen had a holiday in Windsor.
