The new state-of-the-art 3 Tesla resonance, thanks to artificial intelligence, allows some clinical examinations to be performed in up to half the time and provides higher resolution and quality images. In addition, it has a shorter and wider tunnel, between 70 and 95 cm, which improves patient convenience and comfort, reducing the feeling of claustrophobia.
It stands out for the very high gradient with which better resolution is achieved than with conventional resonators (even compared to other 3-Tesla models) and higher speed in image acquisition. “In this new instrument, the exploration time can be reduced by up to 40 percent in some investigations compared to conventional instruments,” explains Dr. Carlos Alonso.
Its comfort and resolution are not the only advantages of this new device, which also includes artificial intelligence in the diagnostic path, “first analyzing the anatomy of the patient so as to be able to provide greater quality in diagnosis and comfort reductions can be planned; And then reducing the noise that comes with the acquisition of the images. This new instrument receives thousands of images in each study, where artificial intelligence programs help guide the analysis and be more efficient when analyzing such large amounts of information”, he explained.
These new pieces of equipment will be aimed at advanced studies in oncology, neurological research and functional analysis of the brain, among others. Also to diagnose pathology that would be impossible to detect with other instruments with lower resolution. This state-of-the-art technique is particularly useful when high spatial and temporal resolution is required and offers significant advantages in the diagnosis of central nervous system, cardiovascular pathology and some cancers.
The highest image resolution of this echo comes from the advanced antenna system it possesses. In the Signa Premier MRI they are more comfortable for the patient and easier for the technicians to use. These devices have very light, flexible antennas with wide structural coverage that are much more powerful than conventional ones. Image quality depends not only on the quality of the equipment, but also on the quality of the antennas.
