Stalin Ballesteros presented his resignation from the leadership of Colombia Compra Efficient. His departure was accepted by President Gustavo Petro, who has already appointed a temporary replacement.
Ballesteros’s departure was made official through Decree 095 of February 1, 2023. Although it already seemed like a foregone conclusion, it happened right after the Council of Ministers, in which the President drew attention to the slowness in the fulfillment of the tasks of some Cabinet members.
Indeed, de Vásquez, former partner of Nicolás Petro, son of President Petro, warned on his social networks about possible turmoil in the entity. “Colombia beware of efficient procurement,” the president’s former daughter-in-law said.
Ballesteros had been with the unit since September 29, 2022. He came into government after working in the Petro Junction team with former President Ivan Duque. In his place – temporarily – will be Carlos Toledo, who works at the unit as deputy technical director of the unit.
It is known that Ballesteros submitted his resignation on January 31, the same day to the Council of Ministers, in which Petro expressed dissatisfaction with the execution of some of his officials. However, from the Casa de Nariño he assured that the versions that indicate that a change is coming at the ministerial level in the government are false.
But differences with President Gustavo Petro led to the departure of Colombia’s director Compra Efficient, along with that of the national planning director, Jorge Iván González.
