Radhika Apte is known to be media-shy. The actress is not as social media savvy as some of her industry peers and has spoken about her penchant for not being clicked. But one can assume that she would be more specific in capturing personal moments. However, in a recent interview, Radhika revealed that she doesn’t have a single photo of her own wedding and gave a rather unusual reason for it. Radhika married British violinist and composer Benedict Taylor in 2012. The couple, who split their time between London and Mumbai, like to keep a low profile despite working in the entertainment industry. They met in 2011 when Radhika was in London for a gap year to learn contemporary dance and soon began living together. They had a small wedding in 2012 before an official ceremony in 2013.
Speaking to India Today recently, Radhika reminisced about her wedding and revealed: “When I married Benedict 10 years ago, we forgot to click on the pictures. We had a DIY wedding. We called our friends, made the food ourselves, had the wedding somewhere in the north of England and partied. But no photos, even though half of our friends were photographers, none of them clicked on photos either. We were all so drunk. So I don’t have pictures of my wedding. Which is good in a different way.”
Radhika added that Benedict is “worse” than she is when it comes to clicking photos on memorable occasions, but now they are slowly making up. “My husband is worse, he doesn’t click on any pictures. But now when we go on vacation, we try to click on at least one thing,” she said.
The actor was recently seen on Forensic, which was streamed on Zee5. The murder mystery featured Radhika as a police officer and also starred Vikrant Massey, Rohit Roy and Prachi Desai. Radhika will next be seen in Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. The film is a remake of the Tamil film of the same name, starring Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan. Pushkar-Gayatri, who directed the original, also returns for the Hindi remake.
