Rafinha has been immortalized in the history of São Paulo for captaining the unprecedented Copa do Brasil title, won on Sunday (24), and also for being the composer of the fans’ new song. This Wednesday (27), in the match against Coritiba, in the Brasileirão, the fans sang in the stands the song he composed during the lawn party after the 1-1 draw with Flamengo in the Morumbi final.
The new song was sung by Independente fans in the first half of the 2-1 victory over Coritiba, even in heavy rain in Morumbi. The fans added some verses to the original song: “And give him, give him the Tricolor! And give it to him, give it to him the Tricolor! You will win, you are the world champion!”
“A Copa do Brasil chegou de vez
E o Brasileiro já ganhamos seis
Sou tricampeão mundial”

Rafinha performed the song for the first time on the lawn of Morumbi. Later, he repeated it during the celebration of the players, management and coaching staff, in one of the restaurants of the stadium. During the game against Coritiba, it is possible to see him singing along with the fans, amidst the natural nervousness of a game.

“The Brazilian Cup has arrived once and for all
And the Brazilian we have already won six

Rafinha is known for enlivening the title parties of the teams he visits with his banjo, accompanied by other pagoda instruments. The same goes for Grêmio and Flamengo, his two previous clubs in Brazil before arriving in São Paulo, in 2022.
This Wednesday, he was on the bench, like most of the starters, preserved after the title and already watching the classic of the Corinthians. Tricolor will face its rival Majestoso next Saturday (30), at 6:30 pm (Brazilian time), in Morumbi, for the 25th round of the Brasileirão.
