Here are some of the best of three local holiday destinations in Queensland, named among 23 Outstanding Cities for the 2022 Queensland Top Tourism Town Awards.
Imbil is in the race for the top tiny tourism town (population below 1500), while Rainbow Beach and Umundi both make it to the top small tourism town (population 1,500-5,000) category.
Queensland Tourism Industry Council CEO Brett Fraser says the finalists have been selected by an expert panel, with the public casting their vote for their favorite Queensland holiday gem to decide the final winner.
“All finalists provide guests with amazing visitor experiences. From the historic buildings in Rockhampton and Charters Towers to the coastal getaways in Port Douglas and Rainbow Beach, these communities have rallied together and brought out the best of our state,” Mr. Fraser says.
“The awards provide an opportunity to shine a light on the best cities of our state after the challenges of the past three years and to honor their dedication and commitment to tourism.”
vote Closes on Monday 23 May, Queensland’s top tourist destinations will be announced at an awards ceremony in Brisbane on 13 June.
All Queensland Award winners will receive automatic entry into the National Top Tourism Town Awards to be held later in the year, where they will be crowned the best holiday destinations in Australia.
Everyone who casts a vote will go to a draw to win the $2,000 Apollo Motorhome Holiday.
