NEW YORK.- The president of the Democratic Hope Party (PED), Ramfis Domínguez Trujillo, had no doubts when evaluating the government of President Luis Abinader, who he said “has no pants and political will.”
In an exclusive interview with this reporter, Domínguez Trujillo also maintained that the “RD Opposition Rescue Alliance” (FP, PLD and PRD) is not equal because those parties are more equal, they all went through the National Palace, “and even though disguised themselves. in another color, that costume does not take what they are, they represent the destructive governments to the detriment of the Dominican people. Now they are together, this is the alliance of evil,” he said.
« We are on the other side, looking forward with our faces to the sun, without lines, without commitments, only with the Dominicans. That is why we will not create an alliance, because the collective of that kind of politics has remained united for many years, but to the detriment of the people and forgetting the ordinary Dominican,” he said.
Domínguez Trujillo stated that his organization was founded with the idea of remaining independent and autonomous, to distinguish itself from the entire political class of the DR, “and we will continue this in the 2024 elections.”
“For the second round I said we will accept any support from all parties, because we will win in 2024,” he said.
“Our aspirations for Dominican politics represent the ordinary Dominican, who is the one who needs help the most.”
“In the government they have made progress, we cannot be small and say that everything is bad, but unfortunately for everyone they have failed, because there are many commitments that have dark sectors, have business power, have much contempt and indifference within themselves.” organism, that today we have the same level of corruption that we saw in the past, because nothing has changed,” he stated.
Asked about the choice of his running mate, he stated “our greatest wish is to have a woman, a Dominican woman, because we know that in the DR it is 50% and 50% women and man.”
“Also, our cabinet must be made up of 50% women. “We will look for an exceptional woman for vice president, who represents the Dominican people with dignity, a woman with decision, not a rubber stamp like what we have today,” he said.
He added that the PED presents candidates at the level of mayors and directors of municipal districts, aiming to bring good candidates that represent the interests of the people. “In the same way, we are working on the party’s register this time, to deliver it to the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and we will present a good register beyond 2021.”
He said that in Constituencies 1-2 outside the country they already have 5 pre-candidates in each of them, and in 3 we have 2, but we will complete it.
“We are close to a million people, but this year we will exceed a million, with more than 100 stores open throughout the country and working groups in every district of the country,” he said.
He said that PED is a strong party that, although not facilitated as the majority party, is the majority party in the DR.
