This technology is considered a major success in the collaboration between Raytheon UK and the British Ministry of Defense to combat various aerial threats, from drones to more advanced missile systems.
The high-energy laser system with an output of 15 kilowatts has been proven effective in various field tests, even in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, sleet and snow. During live firing exercises in the US, the system was able to successfully capture, track and destroy multiple drones in various scenarios in which they simulated attacks on facilities.

This upcoming delivery to the UK coincides with the opening of Raytheon UK’s Advanced Laser Integration Center in Livingston, Scotland. It focuses on the testing, deployment and maintenance of defensive laser weapons and will serve as a focal point to ensure rapid deployment and maintenance of these technologies in the region.
